Cliffs of Moher - Visit this Special Protection Area in Ireland

The Cliffs of Moher are home to the major gathering of Cliff Nesting seabirds in Ireland. And I believe that is the reason why this area had been designated to be an SPA (Special Protection Area) in 1986. There is also a 200 meter region of open water, in front of the cliffs to protect part of the birds’ feeding area.  The total designation covers over 200 hectares to be highlighted as an important area of wildlife.
A few Things to do here…
You can move to the cliff top walking south to the hags head and try to hear the bells of an ancient city of Atlantis in Ireland. Next, drive around 2 miles south of the cliffs; you will come across a holy well on the right hand side of the road. It’s a pious place of pilgrimage paid on 1st Feb. each spring. You would probably like to eat something now, so pull over Vaughans Restaurant in Liscannor  - a place with more of a traditional look. This feels to be a well organized restaurant and serves superb food all the day.
If you would like to relax enjoying indoor pool and aquarium, Lahinch seaworld would be a great venue to stop at for a while. In other words, it is an alternative for a rainy day. Or if you are looking for a hotel nearby, go for a quick search online-there are a lot of websites/directories that offer discounted prices on short stays. But during all above, do not forget to take a Ferry Trip out to the Aran Islands. Wish you all the best, Have fun!
